He also makes Ultron's rage a key facet of his character that actually makes a lot of sense, so know that the title isn't merely a play on words. He bucks trends, never taking the story in the direction you'd predict, but he always does so while staying true to the characters, giving them rousing moments that remind you why you like them - or despise them - so much. If Remender’s storytelling is one thing, it’s refreshing. He comes up with wild ideas and applies them in unexpected ways, and it’s those constant surprises that make this a page-turner that will have you reading it all in one sitting. There’s never a good time for an Ultron invasion, is there? The story embraces the more sci-fi aspects of Marvel’s universe, and seeing how Remender’s forte is sci-fi - as evidenced by Fear Agent, Low, and Black Science - it’s quite entertaining to read. It’s not long before Ultron has conquered it and returned to Earth as Planet Ultron, just as the Avengers are having a crisis of conscience about whether artificial intelligence counts as real life or not. We glimpse the Avengers of yesteryear battling Ultron and defeating him by rocketing him into space fast-forward to the present and that ship lands on Thanos’s old home, the populated moon of Saturn called Titan. #True story rage comics movieSpeaking of Pym, he'll be in a movie this year, too. The plot might sound a little wonky, but it allows writer Rick Remender to explore all facets of Ultron past and present, including his ever-complicated relationships with his “father” Ant-Man Hank Pym and his “son” The Vision. ![]()
